Summary
The Focus SAM2 is a robust and versatile enduro e-MTB, praised for its exceptional suspension performance, stable descents, and comfortable climbing geometry. It features a powerful Bosch motor and adjustable settings for personalized handling, though it carries some weight and has minor design quirks.
Fantastic suspension performance
Stable and supportive on descents
Comfortable upright pedaling position for climbs
Powerful Bosch Performance Line CX motor
Adjustable geometry for personalized handling
Heavy weight
Integrated stem & headset cable routing
Battery removal can be cumbersome
Proprietary C.I.S. stem complicates servicing
Saddle comfort could be improved
The Focus SAM² is a great all-round enduro e-MTB, and I like that you can adjust the head angle to tweak the handling to your preference.
This beast rolls on 29-inch wheels, packs 180/170mm of travel, and tips the scales at a hefty 27.1 kg (size L). Yeah, it’s a tank—but one built to absolutely destroy descents.
Focus have come up with a smart solution to adjust the rear-centre length.Pinkbike

If you like your e-MTBs big, burly, and unapologetically downhill-focused, then the FOCUS SAM² 6.9 is about to be your new best friend. This beast rolls on 29-inch wheels, packs 180/170mm of travel, and tips the scales at a hefty 27.1 kg (size L). Yeah, it’s a tank—but one built to absolutely destroy descents. The SAM² 6.9 isn’t here to mess around. Its robust alloy frame is one of only two alloy rigs in this category (shoutout to Moustache), and […]
