Here's the Week in Tech — all the gear news, tips, and announcements you need and none of the marketing gibberish you don't.

Crikey, what on earth is this!? The words; 'full suspension', '29er' and 'plus tyres' just should never combine in one sentence, there's not enough space! Well, Trek has clearly ignored what you shouldn't do and have produced a bike that would seem impossible.
Limitless traction.
Easy to ride on hard trails.
Bloody good fun.
Big wheel woes.
Very terrain specific.

Trek has committed hard to the 29+ wheelsize with the Stache 9.8 - a carbon fibre trail hardtail built around 29x3.0in tyres and a 120mm travel fork

A few changes have altered Andrew's impression of the task so dramatically that a new review was in order...
Upgradeable frame
Fast descending hardtail
Well-designed aluminum frame
Forgiving ride with 3" rear tire
GX drivetrain faultless
Stands up and recovers well with Mattoc Pro fork
Flows through chunky root or rock sections
Holds a line better than any other hardtail ridden
Improved climbing traction with long rear center
Stock Chupacabra tires weak for aggressive riding
SRAM Level brakes under-gunned with big tires
Seat stays occasionally bite the rider

Trek has doubled down on its plus-size hardtail for 2017 with the Trek Stache 9.8.

Dabei […]
