Zusammenfassung
The Trek Stache is a cross-country hardtail with 29+ tires that deliver incredible traction and a smooth ride over rough terrain. Its geometry is playful and agile, making it fun and confidence-inspiring on the trail. However, it can be expensive and the tires are prone to damage in rocky conditions.
Huge amounts of traction from 29+ tires
Playful and agile geometry
Versatile with adjustable chainstays and wheel options
Expensive frame and components
Tyres are easily damaged in rocky terrain
No dropper post on some builds
The result is a similar ground smoothing low pressure footprint to a 27.5in plus-tyre, but amplified in terms of bump shrinking speed sustained by the shallower contact angle of the 29in diameter
The Stache’s strengths include insane levels of traction and a geometry aimed at being able to throw those big hoops around at will.
It’s no buzz kill, though, and the safety net of the Velcro-like traction means you can chuck the Stache around the trail with reckless abandon, and this makes it seriously good fun to ride.

Dabei […]

As we’ve learned over the past few weeks, however, first impressions aren’t everything, but we certainly have done a lot of laughing whilst riding this thing, it’s a whole lot of fun! Ahead of our review, here is a little preview of this very unique bike. Oh, and does anyone know what a Chupacabra actually …
Huge amounts of traction from the 29+ tyres.
Stranglehold dropout allows for 29+, 29" or 27.5+ wheels.
Geometry is fun and lively.
Manitou fork axle is very fiddly.
No dropper post.

With a rigid fork and 29in plus wheels, the Stache is far from conventional, but it works. Beware big hits and blow outs. Buy if want a low maintenance 29er for rocky/rooty trails and aren't worried about suspension
Amazing small bump, rough surface rolling speed and crazy traction from the rubber dinghy sized tyres. Surprisingly agile handling and no suspension set-up, maintenance or extra weight to worry about
Expensive frame, rolling stock and carbon fork mean average, not advantageous, components. Once bigger blows start it bouncing it’s hard to stop and it’s as pressure sensitive and as likely to puncture as other plus bikes
