The Santa Cruz Hightower LT uses their older style VPP configuration, with the shock tucked under the top tube and driven by the upper rocker link.
The Hightower LT handles it all.
Seat angle could be steeper.

Das Santa Cruz Hightower LT ist ein famoses 29"-Bike, das keine Hindernisse scheut und zum Draufhalten verleitet. Spurtreu und präzise surft es über den Trail, will wohl mit Nachdruck gefahren werden. Bergauf klettert es für ein Enduro klasse.

If versatility is what you're after, this longer travel version of the popular Hightower is worth a good look. Speculate no more! The LT version of the Hightower takes aim at long-travel 29ers with an extra 15mm of travel and an almost entirely new frame.
