Zusammenfassung

The Marin Alpine series is celebrated for its affordability, versatility, and performance in the enduro category, offering a range of models that cater to various riding styles and terrains. Its suspension, particularly the EWS-winning MultiTrack design, is frequently praised for its ability to handle technical descents and climbs with ease. The bikes are noted for their solid construction, playful geometry, and the inclusion of high-quality components like Shimano drivetrains and FOX suspension, making them a favorite among riders looking for value without compromising on performance.

Pros
  • Affordable for its category

  • Versatile sizing suitable for a wide range of riders

  • EWS-winning MultiTrack suspension design

  • Solid platform for future upgrades

  • Capable of handling technical and steep terrains

Cons
  • Coil spring may not suit lighter riders

  • House-brand alloy rims may need upgrading

  • Super short 35mm stem length with very wide 780mm alloy riser bar may not suit all riders

Key Quotes
It’s a well-equipped 150mm travel mullet ripper that’s on the affordable end of the catalog.

Marin’s managed to strike the perfect balance between compliance and resistance, hitting the sweet-spot of ebike suspension on its first attempt – and that’s quite some praise.

2023 Marin Alpine Trail E1 – a different kind of test

Jan. 2024 · Knut Nes

We picked up the Marin Alpine Trail E1 towards the end of 2023. But thanks to both covid and snow, we barely got to ride it on bare trails. Consequently, most of the testing was done on snow. And it turned out the Alpine Trail E1 was well suited...

Marin Alpine Trail E e-MTB review

Aug. 2023

Marin’s Alpine Trail E platform has been around for a little while now but its base-level model is the new kid on the block. It brings the performance of its higher-end stable mates to a more accessible price point. The result is a very wisely specced e-MTB that does everything it can to please riders who are after an aggressive, gravity-focussed ride. In the hands of more experienced riders, it’s one of the best e-mountain bikes around but its ride isn’t terribly welcoming to newbies.

Electric Bike Review
Marin Alpine Trail E2 Review

Dez. 2022

Price: $6299.00 | Model Year: 2022 | An all mountain enduro electric bike with long travel Fox 160mm front and 150mm rear suspension. Setup as a mullet with 29

Beobachtungen
  • An all mountain enduro electric bike with long travel Fox 160mm front and 150mm rear suspension. Setup as a mullet with 29" front wheel and 27.5" rear wheel. Available in four frame sizes to offer improved fit.

  • Shimano Deore XT 12-speed drivetrain with wide 10-51 tooth cassette. Shimano SLX hydraulic disc brakes with large 203mm rotors, quad piston front caliper, tool free adjustable reach levers for easy adjustment on the trail.

  • Purpose built frame with downtube integrated battery pack. Shimano EP8 high torque motor is compact and lightweight, but still responsive and powerful. It offers 120+ RPM pedal support and up to 85 newton meters of torque.

  • Battery pack requires a 4mm hex wrench for removal vs. a security key. Charge port interface is low on the frame and difficult to plug in. Power button and display navigation button are separate from control pad. The bike is only available in one color.
