Specialized Turbo Levo FSR Comp Carbon 6Fattie/29 e-MTB first ride review

Jul 2017 · Rob Weaver

Faster sections of trail, where I quickly reached the speed limit of the bike but still wanted to pedal, didn’t feel as labour intensive thanks to the motor de-coupling.

Specialized Turbo Levo Hardtail Comp 6Fattie

May 2017

The Specialized Turbo Levo Hardtail Comp 6Fattie is a really interesting trail hardtail. With a super-quiet, smooth transmission and an integrated battery it looks and feels a lot like a non-powered hardtail, and it will appeal to people who want a bit of assistance in their riding without buying into the e-bike look. The app-based control is interesting too, and the whole experience feels very stripped back: no displays, not much changing of modes, just going out and riding.

Revolution Mountain Bike Magazine
[R]eviewed: Specialized Turbo Levo FSR

Mar 2017

So this is the first time we’ve reviewed an e-Bike in [R]evolution. Over the past few years I’ve briefly ridden a small handful of e-Bikes at trade shows and launches, but until this Levo arrived at our office I had never really dug my teeth into one. You know, set it up properly to fit me, spent time learning about its motor and battery, essentially treated it as if it were my own bike for a couple of months. Now […]

Specialized Turbo Levo FSR Expert 6Fattie Review - Prices, Specs, Videos, Photos

Jan 2017

Price: $7500.00 | Model Year: 2016, 2017 One of the stealthiest electric mountain bikes around with integrated battery and motor technology from Brose, available to demo and buy from a wide network of shops. Responsive and zippy without producing a lot of noise, you don't get shift detection here but the motor relies partially on torque sensors so it works naturally enough. One of the stealthiest electric mountain bikes around with integrated battery and motor technology from Brose, available to demo and buy from a wide network of shops.

Flow Mountain Bike
Tested: Specialized Turbo Levo FSR Expert 6Fattie

Jan 2017

The Levo is the first pedal assist bike we’ve had an opportunity to really ride for a long period of time. It’s also, in Australia at least, the bike that’s really at the centre of the e-biking debate, so it’s a good one for us to spend some quality time aboard. Why do pedal-assist bikes …

Highs
  • Very clean execution.

  • Feels and looks brilliantly well made.

  • Far more fun than we'd dare thought.

Lows
  • Motor surges at slow speeds.

  • Long chain stays.
