Summary
The Canyon Grizl is a versatile and well-designed gravel bike that excels in mixed terrain and adventure riding. It offers a comfortable and stable geometry, ample tire clearance up to 50mm, and features like multiple mounts for bikepacking. Reviews highlight its excellent value, capable handling, and suitability for long, rough adventures.
Good value for money
Ample tire clearance for up to 50mm tires
Comfortable and stable geometry for varied terrain
Multiple mounts for bags and accessories
Versatile and capable of handling rough gravel
Heavier weight compared to some alternatives
Rattling or semi-integrated cabling
Lower spec groupset on some builds
Limited suspension damping in rigid models
Fewer accessory mounts on suspension versions
Canyon has cleverly designed the chainstays to kink outwards near where the tire sits, providing more tire clearance, up to 50mm.
Canyon’s claim of ‘all-you-might-ever-need gravel bike’ stands true to the test.
It’s a rugged workhorse of a bike that somehow never seems to teeter too far in any one direction.
The Grizl is an excellent gravel all-rounder, and missed out on the top spot by a narrow margin.
The Grizl 7 Suspension inspires confidence on the descent thanks in no small part to the suspension fork and wide tires. This bike rips.

Canyon released the second generation of the Grizl platform back in July 2025, placing a special focus on its adventure gravel credentials and ability to bag big miles in the saddle. With the new model, Canyon has divided the range into two distinct lines: the Grizl OG (or Original Graveller) and the more adventurous, bikepacking-focused Grizl Escape models. Pictured here is the Canyon Grizl CF 7, which forms part of the OG line but still promises utility at a reasonably high level. Is Canyon working on an all new gravel fork?
